About Core Centre Psychological Services

Helping children, youth, and families understand learning, strengths, challenges, and the support that can make a meaningful difference.

Core Centre combines extensive experience in school psychology with individualized psychological services. Our work is grounded in careful assessment, clear communication, and practical recommendations that families can use at home, at school, and when planning next steps.

Specialized Support for Learning and Development

Core Centre focuses on understanding how children and young people learn and function, then translating that understanding into practical, individualized support.

Assessment Comes First

Our two primary assessment services are:

✓ Psychoeducational Assessment
✓ Gifted Assessment

Both are conducted exclusively face-to-face at our Mississauga clinic and are designed to provide families with a clearer understanding of the child’s individual learning profile.

Support Beyond Assessment

When appropriate, Core Centre also offers individualized support in areas such as:

✓ Wellbeing counselling
✓ Emotion regulation
✓ Social skills
✓ Study and organizational skills
✓ Parenting skills consultation

Our Approach: Understand First, Then Support

1. LISTEN

We begin by understanding the questions, concerns, history, and goals that bring a family to Core Centre.

2. ASSESS & UNDERSTAND

Where assessment is appropriate, we look carefully at the individual profile rather than relying on a single score or assumption.

3. EXPLAIN CLEARLY

Findings are communicated in practical language so parents can understand what the results mean for their child.

4. PLAN NEXT STEPS

Recommendations focus on realistic strategies, educational planning, and individualized support where appropriate.

Meet Dr. Ewa Antczak

Core Centre was founded by Dr. Ewa Antczak, an award-winning psychologist whose career has been closely connected to children, families, schools, and educational communities.

Psychologist & Founder

More Than 20 Years in School Psychology

Dr. Antczak brings extensive experience in psychoeducational assessment, learning needs, specialized programming, assistive technology, alternative curriculum, and student success. Her professional work has also included leadership on committees and supervision of pre-doctoral psychology interns.

Experience With Families

A Practical, Child-Centred Perspective

Across school psychology and private practice, Dr. Antczak has supported more than 15,000 children, youth, and families. She established Core Centre in 2017 to bring that experience into an individualized practice focused on understanding each child and providing useful direction.

Professional, Individualized, Practical

Every child and family brings a different history, set of questions, and combination of strengths and needs. Core Centre’s work is designed around that individuality.

Individual Attention

Services are guided by the child’s specific profile and the family’s questions rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Clear Communication

Parents receive explanations that connect professional findings with understandable, practical meaning.

Educational Relevance

Assessment findings and recommendations are developed with real learning environments and educational planning in mind.

Actionable Direction

The goal is to help families leave with greater clarity about strengths, challenges, and sensible next steps.
